Meet Whitney and Anne Galbraith
|
Whitney
and Anne Galbraith love to travel, and exploring Europe either
independently or with a tour is at the top of their list of vacations to
take. Travel agents and books are full of advice on what to see, and often
where to eat and sleep, but there is little information for the traveler
who wants or needs to know what he or she is eating. Whether you are
abroad for a few days or a few weeks, you soon discover that being able to
decipher a menu becomes of major importance to enhance your dining
experiences, and can be of serious importance if you have dietary
restrictions, or as Anne has, food allergies. Culinary surprises can be
disastrous, merely disappointing - or even embarrassing - if you are not
competent in the language. The Galbraiths decided, after several trips to
the Continent, ranging from ten days to two months, that something needed
to be done to full this void. Dictionaries and wordy cookbook-like
translators have proven to be inadequate, so voilą - the European
Menu Translator was born. Because the Galbraiths don't like to lug around
excess baggage, Whitney designed the Translator so that it would fit into
a pocket, purse or camera bag, and so that it can quickly be referred to.
They look forward to their next trip abroad so that the full adventure of
European cuisine, whether at a small bistro, or at a five-star
restaurant, will now be theirs.
The Galbraiths are natives of Colorado. |
